I have extensive experience translating contracts and other business agreements, court documents, and patents
My main focus is on the banking and investment sector, including financial statements and reports. I also translate business materials for clients in the IT, telecommunication, and environmental sectors.
I translate a wide spectrum of media content including newspaper and magazine articles, trade publications, TV and broadcast media materials, as well as advertising and PR documents. My work has included topics ranging from energy and the environment to the sports, visual and performing arts, and tourism sectors
I translate international development reports covering projects on the environment, human rights and cultural issues, renewable energy, and water. I also work in the areas of architecture & design, computer software and systems, the internet, telecommunication, and the visual & performing arts.
I have been a professional freelance translator working from French, Italian, and Spanish into English (my native language) for over 20 years. Prior to becoming a freelance translator, I was a professor of mass communication with a teaching and research focus on international and intercultural communication. My communication background has helped me to become a highly effective writer able to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner. Working and living in many different cultural settings across the globe has given me an essential sensitivity to cultural nuances that I use to adapt your translations to your intended purpose and audience.
The Great Lakes region of the United States is one of the largest business hubs in North America. The area is home to a highly diverse range of businesses, from heavy industry to IT and cultural production. Moreover, as an inland sea in the heart of North America, the region provides easy access to the entire continent.
I chose my company name, Inland Sea Language Services, for our unique location in the Great Lakes region and because I work with Mediterranean languages (French, Italian, and Spanish). Like water, business should flow across borders effortlessly through a strong understanding of the cultural nuances that underlie all exchanges.
Your ideas should flow like water, even when translated into another language.
